Just read the easy to follow instructions below. Then all you'll need is a steel tape measure. not cloth tape - they stretch. But take care, accurate sizes are essential.

Curtains

Width (All types of curtains and poles/tracks)
Measure the width of the window recess from wall to wall and add 30cm.

Drop (Pencil & Pinch Pleat with curtain track)
Measure the distance from the top of the track to 1cm above the floor (2/3cm if you have not yet had carpet fitted but intend to) or 4cm below the window sill or 2cm above the sill if you are fitting inside the recess.

Drop (Pencil & Pinch Pleat with a curtain pole)

Measure the distance from the bottom of the ornamental ring to 1cm above the floor (2/3cm if you have not yet had carpet fitted but intend to) or 4cm below the window sill or 2cm above the sill if you are fitting inside the recess.

Drop (Eylet heading)
Measure the distance from the top of the pole to 1cm above the floor (2/3cm if you have not yet had carpet fitted but intend to) or 4cm below the window sill or 2cm above the sill if you are fitting inside the recess.

Curtain Poles

Measure the inside recess width of the window (see the diagram above) and add at least 15cm ( 150mm ) each side i.e. 30cm ( 300mm ) in total.

Notes:
All pole measurements are that of the pole only.
The lengths of the finials are not included in the llength of the pole.
